TAP Gateway
Edge connector
Runs on the shop floor from a Raspberry Pi to an industrial PC. Polls each device, normalises the reading, buffers through network loss, and publishes to the broker. Also carries write commands back to devices.
Platform services
Every stage is orchestrated by TAP's services — the API, Analytics engine, and Copilot draw on the same governed data.

Gateway polls the machine
The TAP Gateway reads registers over Modbus, OPC-UA, or your protocol of choice on a fixed scan cycle.
Publishes to the broker
Each normalised reading is published to the EMQX MQTT broker over TLS, on a tenant-isolated topic.
Ingest validates & stores
The pipeline validates, deduplicates, and batch-writes the value into TimescaleDB — evaluating alarm rules in-flight.
Fans out over Redis
The latest value is published to Redis pub/sub for instant distribution to every interested consumer.
Streams to the browser
The WebSocket gateway pushes the value to exactly the browsers subscribed to that tag — nothing more.
The widget renders
The dashboard widget updates. End to end, device to browser, in a measured 6 milliseconds.

Write Path
Not just read — control.
Many platforms are read-only. TAP runs the same route in reverse: a command from the browser travels through the API, broker, and gateway to the device — with sub-100ms feedback confirming it landed.
